I went back and forth for a couple of weeks trying to decide if I wanted to buy a new body. I wasn't sure if the extra megapixels and the autofocus was worth the money. Finally I just went ahead and pulled the trigger and bought it. Boy am I happy I did. The auto focus is dead on and 13X19 prints look amazing out of my Pixma 9500. Sure glad I made the jump and got it.

Just bought one of these myself for Indy this coming weekend here in Japan and have read great reviews about the camera. Am looking forward to using it for the first time and seeing how it goes compared to my 50D which I have used up until now.

Yep it's a great camera. Just make sure to learn all the little in's and out's of the camera and you will be good to go!

I love my 7D! I love the viewfinder level and the 19 AF points the most. I chose the 7D for the AF points, everything else was just a bonus !!

Received my 7D late this afternoon. Got the battery charged and started using it 30 minutes ago.
The viewfinder is (Wow) excellent and the 19 AF points are just great.
Like Raylon mentioned, all I have to do now is learn the little in's and out's.... lot's of 'em
I'm going to have to take a close look at the AF settings......

The best way to get the most out of the 7D and really enjoy it is to learn the AF system, even the modes you may not use that often. That way if a particular setting isn't working for you, then you have a good idea of what to try next. Reading is obviously the first step but don't forget to actually try everything out too. I have learned almost as much by trial and error as I have from reading. Every situation can be different so don't get hung up on "set it and forget it" especially with sports or moving subjects.

For me, the best feature of the 7D is how fast it can focus even in low light. It really puts the 5D MkII to shame in that aspect.
