I know this is a seriously flawed photograph, but I feel that it might be salvaged if I can replace the band of shadow on her face by blending in skin tones from her forehead and chin.

I have very limited PS skills, and welcome suggestions on how to go about doing this. I don't expect someone to just do this for me, but I have an inkling that this would be a two minute job for some of you...and if someone felt so inclined it wouldn't have to be a fancy job that could withstand a pixel peep. just something viewable for web, say 1200 pixels on the long side.

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I feel for ya, the shadow is so dominant on her face, I imagine it would be a task to do more than lighten it while keeping her eyes and such "intact", but some people here have pretty amazing skills...

If you had a skin texture brush and were willing to commit alot of hours to it you could probably make it look ok from normal viewing distance. A pixel peeper would notice it fairly quickly. I've been playing around with digital painting and some of the things you see on the net makes me think that someone with those skills could fix that. The question is how much is it worth to you. Shadows happen on stage and entertainers should know that.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

yeah, its not worth anything to me, really. i didn't realize it would be so much work. i figured you could just click a few buttons and match up some colours or something...something that might take someone who knew what they were doing a couple of minutes. thanks for the heads up, though.

I tried for the fun of it. I am no good at trying to create facial features - tried to add a cheekbone, eyelashes and a more defined nose.

Looks like a good efort, but the singer now looks like Gene Simmons without his makeup on...

It may because we are aware of it. 99% of the population would never know to look for it this it would pass.

Haha i was thinking a little Michael Jackson when I first started on it. I tried to add some noise into the face to make it not look plastic-y. Oh well, it was a fun little experiment. I'd like to see how well the picture could turn out if an expert PS user took their hand at it.

thanks for the effort mfiery! the original face was really noisy, and not even really in focus. i think you actually put a little too much effort into this, and its the new found sharpness of the features that is throwing every body off.
