Looks like a Yellow Throated Warbler. Could be male or female.
Nice shot of the Reddish Egret (white morph) also.
Thanks for the ID and compliment Nodal.

Dec 02, 2013 23:52 | #617 Love this thread. I have three kayaks, and have been planning to use them for photography soon as every time I go out, the birds and even deer seem to just watch me paddle by. Especially on the coast, the shorebirds allow you to get VERY close in a kayak. Can't wait to get out and use it as a floating "blind". Shoot first and ask questions later.

Seems like an excellent stress reliever. Also seems like it would be a nice way to lessen the blow of a bad day for shooting. I know when I hike around at my local refuge for hours and come up empty handed it frustrates the hell out of me.

I thought the black on the bill indicated a white morph redish egret. It's a little hard to see in the picture. What would you ID it as? Legs are also more of a bluish color. If I had to guess I would say that's a great egret with some breeding plumage. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

CScottIV I should keep some things to myself! More info | Dec 04, 2013 14:54 | #622 This one was preening and I managed to get it while it was poofing out the neck feathers. Other than the more obvious lacy feathers on the left side it looked like a garden variety egret. Charles

A couple decades ago I had a Klepper folding kayak and it was very stable as far as I was concerned. I have no idea if the Greenland Folbot is similar. =====

CScottIV I should keep some things to myself! More info | Mar 24, 2014 20:35 | #627 Was able to get out in the kayak last weekend. The only birds that were reasonably close were a Carolina Chickadee and a couple decoys. So it was landscape time. I though about pasting a Wood Duck into a landscape and posting it here, but thought better of it. Charles

I know it is a stretch for a wildlife thread but there are birds on the left and back lit dragonflies in the forground. ![]() It looks like this post is from a few months back, but only one page behind on the thread. This shot is gorgeous though - fantastic timing and capture! ~Jason
