EOS 50D INFO.EXE

I just ran a program on my 50D to check picture count and the CF card is reading 1864 and skipped from #0447 to #1844 with the true count is #477. What happened?

You likely put in a card that had been used in another camera with a higher post count. That's just one reason many of us always format our cards in the computer.

How to get it back where it "belongs"? Delete all but one file on the card, rename that to the correct number, put it back in the camera, and do a "Manual Reset" for the card count (File Numbering).
