I know the S95 has step zoom. Do the G11 or 12 have that feature. If not is there any indication of focal length either in native measurement or 35mm equivalent?

Thanks

The G10 has the same lens; here are the steps:

Thanks xhack.

One follow on question. Is there some indicator on the LCD when of what zoom step is one at, or is it a manual thing of start at 28mm and count up from there?

Not on the G10, there isn't - can't speak for the G11 or G12. On the G10 it's a v_e_r_y brief fingernail flick on the zoom lever for each step. And count. Tedious, I know.

Actually, I zoom and frame by eye to get the result I want. But sometimes it's useful to know what the common FF equivalents are. I compiled that spreadsheet as a matter of idle curiosity - and yes, I know I'm a sad bar steward!

ETA - On the G10, there's a 'progress bar' at the top of the LCD as you zoom, but it's purely pictorial and gives no hard read-out of the FL

Thanks xhack. Sounds like you make a point of really knowing your gear. Not a bad thing at all.
