Wayne what have they set you?

Which day are you going to Brands? Still not sure if we are going yet, might depend on the weather as we have not got tickets yet.

Im doing a UCLAN course in Nuclear Leadership. Not my thing really but i was put on it.
:( . I have to write an essay on an instance of a difficult member of staff, What the difficulty was and how i dealt with it. Thats the first bit.

I got given a sheet with several questions on it that i have to do. I thought this was the whole course, but it turns out this is the first bit that has to be done in two weeks.

Its the equivalent of the first year of a degree.

Ill be going to Brands on the sunday. Always the best day, as its the end of the season, and they usually dont worry about the paintwork too much. Makes for better racing. :)

Would be good to meet you there if you fancy it.

Nice hour or so with some dogs here this afo.

This is Polly, she's a greyhound, and a lovely lovely dog. Sooo beautiful too.

The company who make the collars will (hopefully) be promoting my photography - as will Celia Cross. That's the plan anyhow!

Excellent, I was standing there this morning in the rain thinking excellent loads of bucks running about rounding up the does and a couple of quick skirmishes when the ranger Tom pulled up in is pickup got his rifle out and shot one of the bucks, the whole herd scattered, dam it just when it was looking promising, anyway I got chatting to Tom who has been brought in to Knole to sort the herd out because the last chap whos been there for 30years had mismanaged the deer, he just got every year a group of hunters in to shoot x number of deer regardless of age, condition etc which is the wrong way to do it, I had often wondered why the fallows at Knole always seemed small and when I went to richmond the other week with Lee and Andy I notice that they were bigger and chunky than the Knole ones.
Anyway he asked if I had any pictures from other years which of course I have a few...thousand, and could he see some to see how they compared to now so I sent him over a link to my deer folder gallery, hes asked if I would like to go to the feeding stations with him over the winter etc learn about the managment of the deer and also to see the new deer they are introducing which are 50 large hungarian fallow bucks and 30 sika and hopefully a number of reds as well. So a very good morning I had in the rain and im very excited about it all.

You could show him the Commando photo.
It will be good to have somewhere, closer than Richmond to get some deer photos

That sounds like fun, I did start a degree in policing studies which was more about sociology and decided it was not for, would have been 4-5 years. Like you say there is quite a bit to it.

Difficult staff I could a thesis on that;)

Looks as though your dedication is paying off. If he needs an extra pair of hands give me a shout, used to work on farms and imagine the management side of it is very interesting.

That's brilliant, it will be so interesting to learn more. How weird that the previous keeper did it wrong, culling is only supposed to be done by people who know the herd and really know which one is which.

I like it, so there should be plenty of source material there.

I've had to do some of these management training courses, but we dont have to write essays. Its not my favourite way to spend a day. :(
