(Belated) Merry Christmas folks. Flying visit home before heading off to Rye tomorrow for 4 days to see in the new year.

Loving the Millenium Falcon Chris. I received a Lego Space Shuttle which reminded me just how much I enjoyed Lego as a kid. The shuttle is fully functioning with retractable landing gear and detachable booster rockets. 4 hours to build but not a minute wasted :-D

Some great shots in SOTY this year. I'm just glad I made the montage :)

Hope you all have a safe New Year and will log in again in 2012.

Now, just to kick the wife off the tv so I can watch Top Gear...

Be careful paying as a gift. You dont get any assistance if the deal turns sour. Ask me how i know.

Oh dear, that also sounds very iffey then. Yes, if you dont mind briefly saying what went wrong I would appreciate it.

Many thanks for your input on this, its certainly made me think twice about that option now.

Nice shots, Penelope. I love the BWC. Lee is always very handy to have as he has a way with those squirrels :)

I met Clare and Lee today at the BWC - thanks guys for showing me around - can't believe I've never been there and I live so close  and thanks Lee for the loan of the lens, nice stuff. Will be saving up for a longer lens in the next few months for sure.

So here's a few from today. They're a wee bit gloomy but it was quite gloomy today.

Also doing some quick math, at 6 months processing time per image (your defacto standard) it will take you 183 years to complete the project.

:D

I may have a buyer for my MPE but I am not sure how best to go about arranging payment if he decides to buy - it came about via a friend who uses TP and told the guy about me so we have been corresponding.

He (the possible buyer) suggested using PayPal and I have an account but havent updated it for a couple of years, but am I right in thinking that if you use PayPal they make a charge for their services? Also I dont really know how to go about actually using it this way - only used it for sponsor stuff and once or twice on ebay some years ago lol.

Is bank transfer the safest option? My choice was he pays buy cheque, I wait for it to clear, he waits and trusts me. We want some way that offers both of us security.

What do you guys do these days then?

Thanks in advance.

Linda

I have always used BT and not had any problems

Great shots looks as though you had a good time, we should sort out another meet there

Seems like we should arrange a meet there sometime soon ... I'd be happy with that as it's very local to me!!

Got Charlie's results back today - bad news unfortunately. Seems his mouth lesion is an aggressive cancer tumour and so the vet says it won't be long before it gets into his lymphs and lungs ... So I have brought him home to spend some time with him whilst he seems to be ok ... But when he stops eating again I'll have to say goodbye to him. Vet isn't sure if it'll be days or weeks ... But probably no longer. So .. He's currently curled up in front of the fire and you wouldn't know anything was wrong with him! Will see how he goes over the next few days - the vet was impressed that I had managed to get him to put on over half a kilo in the last 10 days!! So I will keep feeding him up whilst I can!

I am very sorry to hear that Clare but at least he is comfy for now and eating. Definitely make the most of the time you have left with him - lots of cuddles for him :D

Re BWC ~ lovely images and the Dormouse is absolutely adorable..............really must get down there sometime...............PoTN meet was mooted a while back???

Sounds excellent - I love Rye! While you are there, you may want to take a look at The Ambrette Restaurant (external link) at the White Vine House on the High Street. It's a new, excellent Indian fine dining place - no popadoms or Chicken Tikka here! Also, the fish and chips at The Standard (external link)is great if you want simple, good value and The Fish Cafe at Webbes (external link) is excellent for lunch and, again, is great value.
