[RANT]I drove two hours just so I can get my iMac right away. Only to be told that they don't stock the 21.5" with an i7 configuration in store. I have to order it online.

I left thinking. Am I the only one that wanted the i7 config? Why don't they have this in stock? Surely, there's other people that want the same thing as me.

Anyways I just can't see the reasoning why they don't locally stock it. [/RANT]

On the bright side. Tracking shows it's in vehicle on-route. :D:D

Because the vast majority of iMac users using them to surf the web, watch videos of grand ma, view photos from their iPhone and browse iTunes.

The extra cost of the i7 is simply not worth it, most of them won't even use the full performance of the i5.

Most people who need the performance of an i7 based computer don't want the compromises you get with an all in one.

The lesson to be learned is...
Phone first.. before you go.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I've always assumed that the only computers that the Apple store would have in stock would be the base models. Everything else would have to be ordered.
