Get a 60d

while I love my 1d3 to death, i'd rather have a 60d than a 1d2 any day of the week unless the only thing i shot, ever, was sports.

My biggest qualm with the 60D is the SD card...

Just because you'd have two types? If you want to share batteries and memory, the 50D might be more convenient that way. The 60D has the video and less banding at super high ISO, though.

Yeah... I don't like the high-ISO performance of the 50D at all.

50D or 60D IMO depending on what you need. One has video, one has microadjust, take your pick :D

Maybe your problem is that you are too picky? :p

Look, something's got to give. Either spend some money and get the 7D or decide what compromise you want to make. If it is only SD cards, well that's a pretty easy thing to get around as SD cards are not that expensive.

LOL... I may just have to suck it up and accept SD cards. The high-ISO of the 60D looks quite comparable to the 5Dc.

So... 60D vs 5Dc?? Would you still pick the 60?

It depends. The 60D has a better AF system, does awesome video, has a swivelly screen thingy, wireless flash and it even goes up to ISO 12800.

5D has a great FF sensor and a big viewfinder and that's about it. I'd still put the picture quality of the 5Dc ahead of the 60D for most things, though, especially if you like subject isolation.

Well... I just saw the 60D pricing via the CLP and that made the world of difference... I'm going to downgrade to a 60D and use the extra cash to pay off some bills before the new baby gets here in April :D

I would say the only downside is that if you have been enjoying using your f2.8 zoom and f1.8 prime wide open on the 5D, they aren't going to be giving you the same look. Other than that, I think the 60D should be a better performer in many situations. The video will be fun with a new baby around.

You might want to trade that 24-70 for a 17-50, etc. though, as the crop factor is different.
