I just came back from a couple days in Maine, missed a couple of potential great shots and was feeling a little low about my skill level......I feel so much better now, thanks!

Some pictures were fail, but pretty many of them were just random pictures from facebook taken with p&s cameras, so uhm, not that anyone would expect quality images from your average joe with a p&s in their hands.
Edit: My sister went to a "professional" studio once and got photos taken of her kids etc.
Lol guess what, she wanted a white background, the studio was set up with a black background and in most of the images you could see the edges of the paper, and seriously ALL of the images were clearly blown out, like mad, and they just said "yeah we will edit them on the pc later on", sorry but I expect a photo if I pay for a service like that, not a drawing in PS of my blown out face lol.

There are bad "pro" photographers too.

You misunderstand. Those are not "random facebook" photos, they are taken from facebook pages of the bad "pro" photographers you mention. Look closer at the areas that are blacked out and you'll see facebook user names with "photography" in the title and folders with "photoshoot" in the description.

I feel much better about my pictures after seeing these, and I don't claim to be a professional.

The fact that these are "real photographers" websites or FB pages promoting their "work" BLOWS MY MIND.

How can these people take these pictures and think they are perfectly acceptable?

You don't need to go to that site...look at some of the images here (or almost any photo forum, for that matter) with every type of ostentatious "XYZ Photography" watermark plastered all over them.

I'm a bit befuddled -- did you post those links because you consider the watermarks used "ostentatious"? Are you saying you personally don't care for the images and so they don't "deserve" a watermark? They certainly are not intrusive or invasive the way many watermarks can be so I can't guess at what else you are indicating...

According to the site operators, all the images come from people billing themselves a "pros" and charging for their services. Hard as it is to believe ...
