Should I upgrade my CF Card(s)?

Hello all. I have a 1GB Kingston and a 512MB SanDisk.
Just the plain jane ones, not the "Ultra" or "Elite" ones.
I shoot with a 350D. Not sure how to phrase this but
is my memory card "fast" enough to handle the FPS/buffer
of the 350D? OR should I look into upgrading them?

Rob Galbraith's site keeps a very comprehensive performance database for CF cards, and it has listings for most all of the popular cameras. Tough as it is, they manage to keep it fairly current.

Well, do you have a problem with the slow cards not being fast enough? If you only shoot one picture and then recompose before shooting another, it probably won't make any difference to you. If you shoot lots of action where you depend on clearing the buffer out quickly, it is important to you. It mainly depends on your style of shooting.

I like to be abit heavy on the trigger at some times... at other times I take a moment
to fire a single shot, recompose, fire again, etc. I think I may upgrade after all. The

I think question should be set different way No you don't need to change them because of write speed. But question is do you need faster ones for read speed. Pretty much every card is fast enough for camera. I never had problems on 1d (and it has few frames more per sec then 350d) even with old normal (40x or slower) cards. Camera has buffer and I never fill it (even when shooting with old 1d and 20 frame buffer "only" ). But it's true I almost never shoot raw. This speed comes more to question when transfering photos to computer. Do you have time to wait? Fine don't bother then. I usually don't, since after race when sitting in press center waiting for cards to copy, phone is ringing constantly when the hell will I finally send photos. That time even just half time faster copying is worth spending.
But on the other side as you said... cards are not that expensive anymore so why not

Cards may not be THAT expensive but I only work PT 'cause I'm in school so even
just $50-$70 is a decent amount of $$ for me I guess I won't upgrade after all.
