Almost stepped on her last night on my back porch. Had my 100mm f/2.8 Macro and camera in the kitchen along with two Elinchrom BXRi 500s. She was kind enough to wait for me to set up the lights, so I didn't push my luck and just set 3/4 power nothing but straight open bulb on one and a reflector with grid on the other.

Have a larger version to show more detail in the baby spiders to really get one's arachniphobia going?

I kept trying to get closer, but since she was almost as big as my hand I kept chickening out. :)

Cool shots...so many spiderlings. Nursery web spider? I have seen wolf spiders with spiderlings but never as many spiderlings on top.

Thanks guys, I see these spiders quite often, but I have never seen one as large as this one and I had never seen so many spiderlings riding on top like this. I have always referred to these as wolf spiders, but I wasn't certain that was the correct species, but this one was close to the size of a tarantula, imo.
