My wife and I were blessed with a little baby girl, Addison (Addie) Mae, on 9/8/11 so I haven't been out shooting much, but I did manage to sneak out the other night for some shots of the sunset retreating through some rain clouds.

As always, C&C welcome and encouraged.

These are very nice. Congratulations to you and your wife. Never had daughters, but my two grand-daughters (now 10) have been a joy and a blessing.

Nice! I enjoy shots like this with sharp foreground-to-background depth. What aperture did you use for these? Now for the really important C&C: Congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of Addie!!! I too have been struggling to catch time to shoot, but for a less exciting reason: I'm just slammed with work.

Thanks sparker, on both counts!

David - I use f/16 almost religiously for landscapes on the ZE 21, then focus at the hyperfocal distance using the manual focus scale on the lens. Diffraction is negligible for me and if the situation calls for it, Ive no problem stopping down to even f22. Also appreciate the congratulations and I can sympathize with a heavy workload - Im on the tail end of a couple months worth of 55-65 hour weeks and Im ready for a break.

Nice shots. And yes...congratulations on the birth of your daughter.

Thanks everyone!

Here's another from the set - Im not as happy with the exposure blend on this one, it came out a bit darker than what I remember the scene but I think its going to stay as it is unless I receive a bunch of negative feedback.

QUOTED IMAGE

I love this one and IMHO it would have been even better if the little bit of land on the left side of the photo would not be there. But the colours are amazing.

Thanks! Thought of that myself and have cloned it out on my local copy - I agree it looks much better without it.

Thanks again!
