Way to go John, kb and Geno!! I was unsure of how much motion blur to enter and I went a bit conservative.... but I have some that are a lot blurrier ;) Thanks Jason!!! It was a fun challenge and the timing was perfect with our county fair.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Wow! Thanks Jason C, that’s almost as much as surprise as the photo
Sorry about the size but that is the largest I post, but the watermark should have been gentler ;)

The photo was a throw away with my first DSLR, one of those "oh crap I forgot to set it" moments. But it obviously was good enough
Thanks also to Maureen, Garry and vasbyt :)
Here is the next Canon DSLR Speed Challenge #210 hope to see you all there!

Congrats John B! Also very much liked teekay's entry. Thanks Jason for the unique challenge and for taking the time to thoughtfully C&C all entries.

cheers

WTG, John & kb!

Thanks for taking time to critique, Jason. Not sure but it looks like the halo came out in processing. I should have paid more attention.

Congratulations, John_B!

I found this a tough challenge as it seemed quite wrong to deliberately take an out of focus shot and I had no archive of OOF DSLR shots to use since I only recently got my 60D.

Then after posting my entry I naturally thought of some better ideas but was too lazy to try again.

Thanks for your remarks, rawshorty and KbColorado!

Fun challenge, Jason. Terrific entries, all. kb's entry set a bench mark, very handsome, and I enjoyed the inverse approach -g- took to my entry. Thanks for the critique, this photo was a struggle from squeezing the shutter to posting it here. The damn spider web kept bellowing in and out with the breeze, causing the spider to go in and out of focus. After a couple attempts, this shot did the best in capturing the spider, but I enjoyed the etherness of the web seemingly floating unattached to anything. I did crop the shot some, but perhaps a bit more is in order. I wanted to avoid cropping the web so as not to lose its floating effect. Thanks, that was fun.
