$60,000 seems a bit steep for a mirror lens, even if it is 1000mm f/6.3 made by Nikon and one of only 5 known to exist. $200 shipping is also a bit over the top. :)

It's only a mirror lens, and it doesn't look to be in that good a condition.. this a definite CamPeen purchase.

How about a Sigma 1000mm F8 (not a mirror lens or a MAK with a camera on the back!) - local camera shop had (has?) one going for £1000 in Nikon mount. Think the IQ would be better than a reflector.
Canon made a 5340mm conventional lens in FD mount (bit big and heavy) - Nikon should catch up.

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

That's not the first time I've seen that specific lens for sale, no doubt it's the same owner because it's not worth that much.

A common thing on ebay. Owners way over pricing things out searching for a sucker. They say there is one born every minute.

It might be overpriced but think of the envy of others when you show up with this baby! :-)
Fully agree that from a practical imaging point of view, it's not worth it!

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

they say 'desilvering' looks more like a spot of fungus or something to me. Either way, way overpriced for a Nikon Rangerfinder Mirror Lens lol.

We don't even get to see any sample shots taken with the lens.

It seems like a great way to sell lenses. I should go to the same spot, put a EF 28-90mm III lens on a camera, and take pictures of it. That should bump the price up by $10K easy.

Yeah,
But the seller will accept payment by credit card only! Just think of the airline mileage you will get out of that..

Of course, one could make an offer, maybe he will accept a T1i with a kit lens in an even swap...
