Couple of reports state that the seat worked but the chute failed.

So called "Zero Zero" seats are designed to safely extricate the pilot at zero altitude and zero airspeed so I guess the question is, was the pilot actually strapped in in which case, chute failure is definitely a very bad thing.

Gotta love the prototypical "Everything is Brand Spankin' New" look in an infant's eyes...

The lone photo I found looks like he went through the canopy....and there was mention of chute failure. Any way you slice it.....the results are not good. :(

Hahahaha. Well the infant car seat holds from 5-35lbs, and luckily at that point he was more than 5lbs. But he is growing :D We were told to get a car seat that could get a tiny baby, as opposed to regular car seats that usually start at the 7-8lbs mark.

Hi Omar. How's things?

Just got out of a meeting from this morning! Now finally i get some food! How is it going for you Tim?

Man Paterno is being forced to retire due to child molestation charges against one of his former coaches. Apparently Joe did tell his AD about it but that is not enough? Dont understand that.

Hawk, like many other British designs, uses primacord on the canopy to blow a hole through rather than try jettisoning the whole thing. You can see it at around 20 sec. into this video (external link).

See Wikipedia (external link) for more details.

However, if the system weren't completely or properly armed (and the seat simply malfunctioned) I wonder if the canopy breaker would even fire?

Ugh, forget I even thought of this.

In other news, did you guys / gals know that the Giant Heads on Easter Island have bodies buried below the ground?

awwwww Harm... he is soooo cute and TINY!! Love how the carseat just swallows him up... :) PHOTOSHOOT TIME!! Get that baby by a sunny window, with a cute little hat on and start snapping! ;)

(doesn't take much to make me happy.. .as long as it's a little warm wiggly thing, freshly born, with arms, legs and a cute face.. )

Forgot to ask... do you get some paternity time now? A week or two off work to spend with the little man...

So which would you rather have....Bunny Rabbit or Mr. Moose? Bond is totally inappropriate for the wee lad.

I think the Captain needs to continue holding Bunny Rabbit.
