With utmost respect John, SDSU is a fraction of the juggernaut that Penn State represents and PSU is noticeably beneath what a Texas, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, etc represent in terns of power, influence, depth of boosters pockets and impact on their respective communities. SDSU gets parking restrictions for home games. The biggest schools get roads moved if they want.

The truly enormous schools quite literally cause the axis of the Earth to wobble on Saturdays.

Nice 'Shrooms Sid. :D

Thanks Jay.

I appreciate your insights regarding the big schools. Nice flying photos again today too!

I spent many years around D1 sports as well as the Pro sports world and I've yet to see any event short of the second coming that rivals the spectacle and revenue generating ability of the behemoth school's football weekends.

ETA: Perfect Example .. Despite all the negative press and overwhelming disgust and revulsion in some quarters, ESPN is still going to televise Penn State over the next two weeks despite having had their presenting sponsor pull themselves off the telecasts (Cars.com)

Glad you like the air to air stuff. Frankly, I don't know whether I should be very proud there are still frames worth processing from a 1-year old shoot or disappointed that it's been an entire year without another opportunity. :(

Granted, but they act like they're one of the biggies. And SDSU football is a big deal here. They're still "our team." The town was ecstatic when they beat Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl last year.

Jay and John totally understand what you both are saying. Football is king regardless of everything else. Look at what has happened with the big east. Syracuse is moving to the ACC only due to football. It didn't matter that our basketball program is the most successfull sport at the school and draws 30,000 people a game (half of the carrier dome which is only available) while our football program can barely get that many having the whole stadium available.

Schools like penn state where football is religion go to an extreme measure to ensure all illegal activity does not make it to the public. The notion of too big to fail comes into play. It's despicable that penn state took this angle in what is occurring over there. Recruiting violations is one thing but human rights violation is a totally different ball game.

Morning Tuppers.

Attended an interesting wedding yesterday. The Service was spoken (as usual) and signed for deaf members of the audience.

Still a bummer if the money kept on rolling instead of dropping off to visit (and conribute).

I suspect they dropped a dollar or two in A-ville. They had a couple hours to kill and the studio stroll was going on just down the street.
