Same house where I shot the Four Peaks...

Like I said, they're deep into the 1%

(Someone sent me this picture last week )

Yeeks!

The Israeli wasn't that bad, but we had to remove the Cholla from his leg by gently scraping with a knife. Thank goodness we had a first aid kit in the car.

The sale was to an oil change shop....they wanted to know if they could display it in their waiting room.

Weird. It's amazing sometimes what people fall in love with. I guess breaking 'the rules' works!

Just giving LR4 beta a spin. The shadow and highlight control are vastly improved in my opinion. It is shaping up to be a good release.

The last four vehicles I've purchased have been Toyota products, and I'm a believer. The current car has 140K miles on it, and still runs like a watch. The Tundra has 124K miles on it, and I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere. The only expensive problem I've had with either vehicle (besides tires and a recent A/C repair on the Lexus) was one of the catalytic converters went bad on the truck, and Toyota picked up half the tab, even though it had over 100K miles at the time, and was well beyond the warranty. In the meantime, I've gone 5 years without a car payment, and love the freedom.

The two vehicles that actually run right now are our toyotas. One is an 86 4runner, the other a 96 tacoma. Both are old and look terrible. BUT, hubby can work on them... we don't have to take them in to get them fixed when something goes wrong. They both have very high miles but still run quite well! They aren't pretty, but they work and get us where we need to go. I'm ok with that as they are both paid for as well. No vehicle payments for us!:D

Pouring rain here.....we are drowning. My yard is like the great dismal swamp. Just need a gator or two and some venomous snakes to complete the package. Toss in being sick as a dog and you have a wonderful day. Happy Wednesday. :(

Yesterday was nearly as bad as today....we found out that we have two family members on opposite sides of the country trying to die. I woke up this morning sneezing, coughing, hacking and all the other nasty side effects you can envision. Going to make travel a real treat if I need to head to either NY or FL in the next day or two.

uggghhhhh hope you feel better soon and that the family members get through their troubles as well.

In 11 years of chasing trains in the Asheville area....this is the first time I ever caught one of these actually on the tracks.

Nice!!!! I like the background too!

Woolburr wrote in post #13686830 (external link)
I guess I should have been more specific. I have tons of photos of track crews in action.

What I had never seen here before, was a hi-rail vehicle actually on Norfolk Southern tracks.

Love those shots^^^^
