Hi guys,

I have built my own Pc some time ago and since day one I had problems with it when I ran 16GB of ram. Things wouldn't install properly, CS5 and Lr would not start at times and I had constant errors when I ran sfc command. I've run numerous overnight memTests on Ram in different configurations( 4x4, 1x4, 2x4) and they are ok. I just know it's not a Ram issue. The system runs beautifully on 8GB. No problems whatsover. Then I read somewhere that if you want more than 8GB of ram on p8p67pro than you need to tweak some ram settings. I know that every mobo is different but I would appreciate if someone could help me with some more detailed list of what settings to change etc to make it all work. I have tried different forums but most of them allow you to post stuff if you're a seriuos OC and have replied like 100 times to other threads.

Looking forward to heraing from you.

ok...well if you say you have tested the ram (tried each module individually in each slot in various combinations) and its good then a few questions.

are the 4GB modules the same brand and model?

Do you know the specs, the timings and the reco'd max voltage?

If so, go into your MB bios then you should go in and manually set the speed and timings and voltage.

Also, what OS are you running? 32bit /64bit?

If so, go into your MB bios then you should go in and manually set the speed and timings and voltage.

umm...little difficult for me to explain, moreover my ASUS board is different.

Look at this video outlining how to OVERCLOCK. Same thing. About 1/3 way through the video shows adjusting memory timings and voltage.

You may need to lower your timings to run all 4 slots. I know that some boards have issues if you fill all the ram slots (stupid, I know).

A better place to ask this question is undoubtedly here: http://hardforum.com/ (external link)

Thanks, for your reply, however I am afraid I need a little bit more specific answer than that. Lower Ram's timings to what? and where/under which tab in bios do I do that?

You'll have to refer to your motherboard manual, it's different for every motherboard.
