these were taken from my last macro shoot last weekend, this is one of my favorite Predators in the woods, this first specimen is a fully grown Male Robberfly, and he's a BIG one, I thought the title was appropriate for THIS dude as he certainly IS quite the "bully" of the Forest  he was probably almost 3" in length and when he flew away he literally sounded like an old WWII airplane taking off  he only let me get 2 shots of him while he was on that perch there, then he flew to the second perch which was above head level and allowed me to fire off 2 before he got tired of me and BUZZED me before taking off,, notice the large Proboscis ,, you all KNOW what thats used for

this shot is of a different variety of Robberfly, it looks similar to a shot Ive taken before but this was taken again last weekend,, notice the red eyes and quite different facial characteristics as well as different coloration on the legs, I wonder if this would be the female variety here, I tried to do some research but couldnt find any information on that,, typically I find this species somewhat hiding in the dark like this perched on a small stick, they are in prime hunting position here to make a quick attack and I mean QUICK attack too, these are AMAZINGLY agile and very fast in flight allowing them to be one amazing hunter

this is just a simple plant/droplet shot that I took while out there and thought I'd throw it in here

Nice shots. I think that first one is a Promachus hinei, but I'm no expert.
