Sorry for mis-spelling "crash" in the title...

I was looking for a thread like this, hoping that none of the usual airplane shooters got in harms way.

When I first heared about the accident, there wasn't any info about boxes in front of the main stand, so I was afraid it was a group of photographers the plane had crashed into.

I haven't heard anything specific about photogs -- just that it barely missed the grandstand (wow, how amazingly fortunate) and plowed into the box seats.

I just re-checked the CNN article and it's still reporting only 3 dead, including the pilot, although most of the injured are apparently still hospitalized, although some have been released.

Some of the video footage is, well, so sad.

That is terrible... and yet incredible that more people didn't die from that crash.

Confirmed deaths now up to five...

Apparently two in hospital died overnight.

Why are you worried only about photographers? Don't other people count?

That was an extrapolation on your part, based on information not available in my post.

If you hear about an accident somewhere, and know that people you know or relate too might have been there and involved, you feel a natural need to figure out if they are ok.

A tragedy is a tragedy, whoever died or got hurt for life. But that does not stop us from caring extra for people who know. Or are you different?

Because there were 200+ of the aviation photography community in attendance and one generally thinks of their own herd first.

Of course the deaths and injuries to the public matter. It's horrible and nearly beyond comprehension.

Don't be "that guy" eh?

There's no need to be offensive Jay - I genuinely don't know what you mean.
