So this little gem starting popping up in inboxes around the industry... I love how vague they are, but here's to hoping on a 1Ds4 and a true 35mm video cameras with PL/EF mount @ 2k/3k on the same day...

SPECULATE!

Given this event is in Hollywood, it's worth remembering that Canon also produces dedicated video cameras, so it could be the "4k camera" that was shown in concept at the Canon Expo last year in New York.

The 4k camera includes the capability to shoot at 4096x2160 resolution at 60 frames per second, compared to the 1280x1080 resolution of full HD.

"...Where will he take the story?" matches "...The story begins..."

i'd say it's not about product launch at all, unfortunately... :(

Did you go with liquid cooling or the upgrade to the Ted Williams Cryo-Cooler?

I'm betting my i7 iMac 27" isn't going to be man enough so it looks like I'll need to spend on a new machine too. Better get saving :)

Nov. 3 is just a few days after the expected rebate ends on the 5D2. Interesting.

Or its just show with the announced camera. I mean, why would they get him on board only to shoot with an old cam and have nothing to premiere it with.

There's about a 97.2% chance this announcement will be just as yawn inducing as Nikon's recent "big" announcement.
