I managed to crack the screen on my ixus 700, these cameras are too fragile to be considered a good pocket camera. I managed to order the part and fix it myself to see my photos of the operation visit

This camera is going to ebay, I need something more robust.

Yep they have problems with the screens. I have had a few come back to the store where I work. but they are still sweet cameras. I am not sure pocket cameras are actualy made for pockets though??? lol

Go to http://www.lehmannsdirect.co.uk (external link) for the contact number; I called them and just asked for a new lcd screen for my ixus 700. They can fix it for you for about £60 or they can send you the part where ever you are in the world, it cost me £23.50 for the part including post to spain. The repair job is not difficult so long as your organised.

I have a little leather case for my ixus 40 that is siff front and back. It is a very snug fit and does not make the camera too big. The make is Oyster cast €25 in Ireland so half that for anywhere esle  .

Highly recommended, it has saved my camera a few times.
