Hello Everyone,

Yesterday i ordered a 'JJC RN-DC58B Filter Adapter G10, G11 & G12'. It was a little less expensive then the original Canon FA-DC58B Filter, thats why i chose it. Does anyone have experience with these products, do they perform equaly well?

I ordered the adapter together with a Travor Close-up Filter +10 58mm & a Hoya UV Filter 58mm HMC C-Serie.

I just registred to this forum, it's amazing to see the G12 pictures people posted here!

Canon T2i (gripped), Canon 15-85mm, Sigma 30mm, Ef-s 18-55mm.

TheDC58B is telescopic,so it follows the lesn as you zoom, this prevents vignetting, its a great bit of kit for the G cameras,I like mine very much for filter work,an added bonus is that you are protecting the lens & lens body from dust etc, they are not designed to take the heave telephoto lenses, but at a push will handle it.
,until you get some fixed length adapters for a few dollars if you decide to go for the telephoto.
So summing up,in my opinion the best for filter work, they will handle a couple of achromatic close up filters no probs.

How does the JJC version compare to the official Canon version?

Thanks. dB

Thanx for your reply Geoff. The parcel should arrive somewhere tomorrow, shall try and write a modest review of the jjc version then.

sorry to revive such an old thread but i'm wondering if this jjc adapter is metal like a lensmate adapter or plastic like the canon?

prefer it to be metal, would get the lensmate but they have been discontinued unfortunately.

I have a lensmate a/b set for a G12 but have gone a different direction and could sell.

Have fun

The JJC works well, but I ran into a problem the other day. I attached a Marumi DHG Achromat Macro-200 (+5) to it and when tried to zoom out the lens , it only went 1/2 way. I just pulled the filter adapter out to its limit, held it and extended the lens. Its the weight of the actual filter that's stopping it. But works well, when extended. Don't know if the Canon is the same, but that's my experience.
