Hey POTN!

Been struggling to find a SOLID tripod for a decent price that can hold my gear.

I have a 1DmkII that is usually paired with my 135mm or my 70-200mm
It is my heaviest combination of gear. I also have the 30D with a Sigma 10-20mm, and 28-135mm

Im trying to find something sturdy, that doesn't move and something that can handle the weight of the 1D + lenses with out having it creep and move when I don't want it to.

Price range is about 150$ possibly 200$

Thanks in advance guys! Really appreciate peoples input!

If Gitzos and RRS are out of the budget, the next best brand I have seen is the Feisol collection. Look at their classic line of carbon tripods without center columns. Those still may be outside your budget. You might also check the Flashpoint house brand at Adorama.

For that price, best bang would be a Manfrotto 3021. It is heavy but very stable.

I searched for the Manfrotto 3021, I don't care if its heavy, that doesn't bother me as long as its solid and stable and can handle the weight.

I can't find the 3021 on B&H or Adorama, Any ideas where or who would stock this?

Consider Induro.

Mine's a few years old now (mid-range model) but it's very solid and supports just about everything I own short of the 500mm f/4 via a Manfrotto 488RC ball head.

I was looking at them on B&H

From the reviews they seem pretty decent.

The Manfrotto 3021 series have been replaced by the 055 series. If price matters, get the aluminum one; if weight does, go with the CF models.

Keep an eye out for Benro tripods. I picked up two - each for ~220. One was the 358m8 and the other the c297ex
very solid tripods.
