As the title asks, are there preferences for a brand for a circular polarizer filter? If so, what makes one better than the other? Glass, coating, durability....?

IQ is without compromise, and I've never had a filter protect actually be able to protect a lens (other than for weather-sealing purposes, of course). Now, if you are talking about a filter without glass just to strengthen the filter mount, then I'm all for it!
