This is amazing! Watched the whole video and was stunned at what all you could see going on inside of it. It's an amazing world, and we havent even caught a glimpse of more than half of what inhabits it. Glad you shared this. :)

Thanks for looking Blake. I have only been at this about a year, and compared to regular photography, I consider myself a complete newbie. The quality of these stills and the video, are so far, the best I have done. The clarity, glass like makeup of the bug was a real help, but I have just recently found out that a very important setting dealing with the light from the microscope has been set wrong all along. Funny that just the centering of a mirror image of the filament of a small halogen bulb can make such a tremendous difference in the quality of an image, but it does. :)

And while the still images are striking in themselves, and I am sure a professional could point to and name all the parts, it's the video that puts them all together, so us amateurs can stare in wonder at the amazing diversity of life. Like everyone else who has rambled through this thread, this is the first time I have seen anything like it myself. I even find it hard to believe that I took these shots. ;)

I agree, that video is quite cool, "better than the average YouTube offerings"!

And, in case people didn't check this out, it actually translate well viewing it at full screen!

Most YouTube videos I check out don't do so well full-screen -- YouTube evidently limits the resolution to the same 480p that is uses for the "normal" display, so unless your IQ is great and the subject can hold up to the magnification then to me it's just not worth it.

But Mitch, this guy comes across well:)!

Thanks Martin and Tony. I should have mentioned in the first post that this video does look good if you have high speed internet and a decent computer to view it large.

I also just started using Premiere Pro CS5. Had it on this new computer for months, but it took me months to get use to Windows 7 64 bit and then fumbling around under my desk for my jaw every time I realized just how fast this new Quad Core processor and Intel board really were over the old P4. I just didn't have time to learn a new program.

But I finally bit the bullet and started using Premier Pro CS5 a few weeks ago and used it to edit this footage. It makes a huge difference to have something with all the best Codecs available and a Quad Core and 8Gb of RAM to run it. Quality shows through. ;)

Hey, good for you! I doubt that I'll ever delve into video -- 'course I've had my share of digicams that did video as well as camcorders, but they have all died off, and I'm just not ready to put out any more "gear" money and likely won't go so far as video "production", but it's good to know that the software is there, and that you are making use of it! And having it in a package with Photoshop is pretty sweet, right?

Yes, I have the whole suite, including After Effects, which I still haven't tried. Can't wait to see what that's all about. :)
