Can some kind person in the UK suggest a good place to buy a 500mm f4? I ask as some web sites are actually in the far east etc. and give the impression of being based in the UK

Thanks

You could contact this reputable dealer and ask them for assistance.

I use Jacobs if you have one locally. They generally match any price in the UK and are photographers themselves, unlike Jessops, who I recently overheard a salesman telling a customer, the longer a lens the worse the pic IQ :(
Having had a go with a 500F4 recently I'm very envious of you, Its an amazing piece of glass which refuses to take a crap shot !! Good luck :)
