A few from the weekend in Central New Jersey. Tried out a 1.4X on my 500 f4 and had trouble with exposures. The camera tended to underexpose by almost 2 stops in bright morning sun. I was shooting in Tv, 1/500, spot metering. Any advice using an extender on the 500 would be most appreciated! Thx for looking.

Very nice assortment Chris. Sorru I can't help you on the 500 f/4 with 1.4 tc but on the 400 I see very little IQ difference and the af is very fast. The 2x tc will take 1 stop just using it and significantly increases af search time, it may be 1 second or more to go thru the full range but that 1 or 2 seconds seems like an eternity. I almost always under expose or compensate by 1 full stop otherwise I get too many blowouts. Like shots 1 and 2, I think if you light meter was right in the middle, perfect light according to the camera, those chests would be blown out and all the detail in the whites would be gone. Very nice set I think, nice detail as well. Well done I say!
