Canon is offering a $500 dollar rebate on its wide format printers. ITSuplies
has the 24 inch iPF6100 for $2499 (already $1200 off retail the of $3699). After the $500 rebate then it is nearly half off retail - only $1999. I have used ITSupplies before, when I bought the 6100. I found the prices excellent, and they are very easy to work with.
Rebate ends at the end of September, so if this has been something you are thinking about, now might be the time.
Also, they have the iPF5100 for $1449 ($1699 - 250 rebate). I would still lean for the 6300, though. The price difference is only $550, and for that the 6300 gives you the reformulated inks and the ability to print 24" on the short side.
Oh, and speaking of ink - if you use a 9000 series, ink is a lot cheaper with the wide format printers. About 58ยข per m/l rather than > $1.50 per m/l
