Santos City of Lights - Brisbane Festival, Australia

Hey guys

Went down to Southbank tonight for this to see what shots i could come up with.

Focusing was done manually, zoomed in and it looked great on the live view but still fairly blurry when put onto the pc.

Tried several shutter speeds from 5 secs to 30 secs and 8 secs seemed to be the sweet spot. TV mode.

Taken on a 550d with the 18-55mm lens.

Id appeciate some C&C for future times.

when shooting that slow and that far away aperture doesn't really mater

Great pictures but I would them straighten out, that water is really running down hill. i like #4 the best, maybe play around with cropping? if you take out the water the lights have a feeling of running.

Bryan, I thought if you set your aperture to around 16 or so the lights (street lamps in this case) have more of the star burst effects?
