Cousins @ Fairview Park

My first serious shoot, with my cousins kindly serving as my models. POTN member PaperPanda assisted me with direction and lighting. Location was Fairview Park in Costa Mesa, CA.

Lighting used were a 580EX II flash through a softbox and/or a reflector. I am a complete newbie at posing and lighting, and this was a learning experience more than anything.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

i would try using the rule of thirds next time to get more variety, i also wouldn't have the girl tilt her head down to look at you, with have her look up at you or have her not look at the camera

You've got a good-looking family!
Nice captures, but my favorite is #4. Very nice light and colors in that one.

some are a little underexposed and could use a little more flash imho

Yeah, next time I want to bring a step ladder and get some shots from a slight high angle. I definitely need to vary my shots. I also need to shoot wider. I tend to frame a bit too close. Shooting wider, I can always crop in post.
