Not to be nitpicking, but since we're talking about colours, it's technically "titanium," which should be a way nicer shade than "silver." However...when I get mine, it's going to be black :D The titanium just looks cheesy compared to black.

Why does the colour not match the actual thing its named after? All things made of titanium I've seen have been waaay darker grey than that :p

I'd prefer white, but I chose silver in the poll. Black's been done.

Huzzah, that's how I feel. Still, I preordered a black because I loved the look of my s90/s95.

I also pre-ordered a silver unit. I'll probably just return whichever looks worse in person. I would order a pink one--that would make people stare.

I think silver/titanium is not bad... and it's not so sensitive to scratches etc. as black is... but nevertheless i prefer the black version, a camera just has to be black ;)

You know, back in the 1970s when I first got into photography, there were no black cameras. Everything was silver. In the late 70's, black started to emerge, and I remember you could choose colors (silver or black). My first camera, a Yashica FR, was black. I got black because it looked so "professional".

Which was the reason they started making all-black cameras...photojournalists hated the silver, because it was flashy and they didn't want to be noticed. So, they got black cameras. Then people equated black with professional :)

Now, a lot of film cameras are way more expensive in all-black than they are in silver/black. I have a bunch of AE-1/AE-1 Programs, but my pride and joy is an minty-mint all-black AE-1 Program :)

This is true. If it was actual "titanium" I would probably order it in that colour, but you're right, it's too light for that...

Who said it was titanium?? The amazon description I pre-ordered mine from said "silver"... Why would anyone expect it to be titanium??... Or why is it being compared to the real titanium color? I'm I missing something?

From dpreview: "The camera will also be available in a 'titanium silver' version alongside the more conventional black - this is not the shiny silver of the Elph / Ixus series, but a darker, matte-finish look."

I got my preorder in really early for both, and the Titanium/silver estimate was at mid november. The Black was more than a month earlier...
