I really... REALLY need to get a greater mastery over tones. I find that images I really like involve many things, but one thing that's consistent are the tones. Like your image, I love the tones and they contribute to your image a great deal.

I don't know how to describe the look, sort of muted, but the blacks aren't blue or cyan, they are not gray either. Again, hard for me to describe.

And it could be the monitor I'm on at work, but maybe I need to tone down the highlights.

But I can't beat myself up too much. This was a quickie edit after all. :P

A couple from last weekends Street SM 2013 competition. It was my first ever battle (did 2vs2 with a friend) and I was
so nervous before our turn. It was sooo much fun though! Definitely got the competition bug now.
Just took a couple photos of some of my dance instructors.

i have quite a few to share in here. just can't at the moment since i'm not at my home computer for another week. great photo's everyone, love seeing all the new stuff.

Well, I've upgraded to a 7D, but will still be keeping the T1i (my wife will probably use this, and it'll be a good back up). Really learned a TONNE using the T1i, and its a real capable camera, just that there are some features on the 7D that I could really use and bought it at a great price. Keep up the great posting all as most important part of the camera is the 10 inches that's behind it

Gave my 500D to futureshop for cleaning on 22/03/13 and haven't seen it back yet.

It is back. They cleaned it and changed focusing screen which I ruined by trying to clean it.
Tested it yesterday, works.

Has anyone replaced protective screen for LCD?
Lots of youtube video for how to replace LCD itself, but none for protecting screen on top of back shell of the camera. Only for 5D.

^^^good to hear that you finally received it back, unfortunately I can't help you with cleaning tips! I'd give you advice but you might have to re-send it back to get it fixed!

Took more pictures today.
Our family film EOS 300 and 50L. Was taking family pictures with this combo.
If shutter still works on this camera, I'll try this combo for B/W film.
