I think they're both great. My favorite camera as far as color and iq is the 1d classic. The 5d was incredible, but the 1dmkii mimics what I loved about the 1d classic. All in all I do believe the 5d has better iq but the focus and speed of the 1d series is amazing. Keep the 5d.. It's an incredible camera 😄

Im with you 100%! Love my 5D. Maybe down the road if my style changes I will let the 60D go,but I think Im joined at the hip with my 5D,lol!

Thanks for your genuine,unbiased opinion(and accurate :) )

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

I just recently purchased my first 1d body. The Mk II N. Love the feel, the look and quality of the camera. I know this is an older body but for 700 bucks and in pristine condition, I figured I couldn't go wrong. I was honestly in the market for a Mk III or Mk IV, BUT the price range was a little high for me at the moment with a new baby. I mainly shoot wildlife/landscape and sports photos. I'm trying to push my way into sports photography as a profession, but anyway, I won't digress.

The Mk II N is a great camera. Love the 8.5 fps for sports and fast moving wildlife. The images are crisp. The ONLY downside so far is the focusing and low ISO range. In low light, this camera is very slow. I know, I should have opted for the higher ISO models but again, the price range is out of my reach for now. My other body, the 7d is great in low light. When I switched from the MK II N on my 400 2.8 to the 7d I noticed a clear difference in focusing and freezing action. Of course the ISO capabilities on the 7d are a little higher than the II N.

Overall, a great camera and a solid piece of equipment for moving up to the professional grade (1d) series cameras.

Does anyone else in here use this model for sports photography? What about in low light situations?

I've have literally trawled through both 1d II n threads looking for opinions on the camera & of course lots of great photos, trying to figure out is it still a good buy. Anyway I took the plunge, got a bargain & here is what I found so far compared to my 550d.

Colours are outstanding, 550d just doesn't do colours this good or accurate.

8.2Mp crops quite well even in heavy crops, but the 100% viewfinder helps to reduce the need to crop greatly over the 550d 95% coverage.

ISO is much more appealing than 550d I prefer it even at high ISO levels. Stay away from 3200 though.

I didn't find the two button menu activation too bad I got used to it fairly quick, its a small price to pay for such a great camera.

Screen is terrible so I'm relying on histogram a lot, it is however exciting to finally see the photos on the monitor though cause I don't really know for sure if there are good or not till then.

So I picked up a 1D IIn because I wanted a faster fps than my 5d2 for sports. Shot college sports this past week with the IIn coupled with a 300mm f4 IS L and was surprised at the results that I obtained. I feel like my images are soft and very grainy, I am not sure if its my camera or if I am just being a pixel peeper. Here are a few images:
