To my surprise, I was blown away by how fast the AF is compared to my 5D2 and T3i. Truly an amazing camera. I just wish the LCD screen was better. I need to stay out of the buy/sell forum. It's burning a hole in the wallet...

Pleased to say that not only is it working flawlessly but the batteries I thought were almost dead are doing great too so the short life must have been caused by the camera issues. One quick snap from a bunch of rather boring pics I took today: EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 1/320 sec, f/2.8, ISO 100

I shoot JPEG mainly, but now have started shooing RAW+JPEG. | 1DII | 7D | 60D | 6D | 100 2.8 | 50mm 1.4 | 11-16 2.8 | 24-105 4 | 70-300 IS USM |

If my image is going to be horribly over-sharpened I'm going to be the one responsible for it, not my camera ![]() Er, you know that the in-camera image settings are only applied to JPEGs, and don't impact your .cr2 files though, right? I believe only DPP will see them, and apply them to a .cr2. Other applications aren't affected.

I use a Sony A99 most of the time (the MkII is my potentially-damaging-locations camera) and I believe the settings are carried across and read (reversibly of course) by ACR although I'm honestly not sure. I just set everything as low as possible to have a base image to start with. I have no real technical basis for this, I'm very much the amateur, it's just how I've always used the A99.
