Can you pull the card and take a look at the very last two frames your camera shot before it suddenly stopped working? Take a close look at those images... look for any concentrations of light or dark areas, or any diagonal or horizontal streaks.

on aps-h sensor, vignetting is not a problem.

Cannot remember the exact settings on lightroom, but mostly just a very basic adjustments like contrast (levels) and white balance.
For sharpening, something like amount 60, radius 1, detail 10, masking 15 is ok.
No luminance noise reduction (or very little), only chrominance.

Try it! Btw, my lens is the older model without IS. It is sharper than IS version.

Ordered my 1d iin and now the waiting game. I also picked up a Tamron 150-600 for $900 used. Can not wait to test out this combo, hopefully I can get fast enough shutter speeds without having to go too high with the iso, mostly concerned during the winter as we get a blanket of clouds. Should be contributing images soon. Will probably shoot the moon as I've never had a long enough lens to get good pictures before.
