Only 8mp? Psh, i've made great 16x20 prints with this thing. More than anything, This camera has taught me to rely more on myself and my intuition than fancy gizmos and features.

People ask me all the time "Wow, how many megapixels is that?", they are surprised when I say 8mp.
I print 16x20's and 20x30's all the time for local high school sports teams and never had a problem. I will never get rid of my 1D MkIIn.

Taking my new (to me) mk ii to its first basketball game with me tonight.
It wIll be sporting a Canon 85 1.8 on it. Anxious to see how it does!

I went from a 50D to a 1DII and couldn't be happier.

I went from a 400d to a 7D and a 1DmkII. I've only got two lenses that fit on it which is why I rarely use it.

Hey Tinner, since you mentioned going from a 400D to a 1d2, can you tell me what you think about the low light performance of the two?

I'm seriously considering getting a 1d2 or a 1d2n. Thanks!

I came up from a 7d and find the noise performance much better!

Low light wise the 1d smashes the 400d, and even the 7d. Even at the highest iso setting, you dont get much noise. Paired with a decent prime (I'm only using the nifty fifty, so its not the best) I'm sure you could get great photos.

I was out a few nights ago with my nifty-fifty and since I didn´t have my tripode (I´m studying abroad so I don´t have a lot of stuff with me) BUT I love the pictures turned out even using ISO 1600. This wasn´t possible with my former camera. I WILL NEVER PART FROM THIS CAMERA

Now I just need some really nice lenses to pair it up with.

Do any of you notice the images on the LCD screen being "softer"
than the same images after being loaded into the computer?
I'm used to judging sharpness, to some degree anyway, by viewing the LCD screen.
I bought this camera from KEH, I may have to return it.
Love the build quality. I will definitely get another if this one proves to be defective.
