How is everyone's battery life with their Mk II? When I received mine I refreshed them about 8 times for good measure and they managed over 2300 shots at the Melbourne Grand Prix. I hear people saying how the 1D Mk III batteries are a lot better, but I don't see how they could get much better than this. I will have to see when mine arrives (going to be sad letting my Mk II go though :( ). Hopefully I will do ok with it though (selling wise) since it only has ~20,000 actuations and is in excellent condition.

Thanks for the links above! My batteries though, crap - especially in cold weather! I stick handwarmers in my camera bag to keep them a decent temp.

I get about 750 shots out of the original 10 year old battery. I get 1500+ from the cheap $35 Chinese generic I got off eBay,,, it could probably do more,, I've never run it all the way down to zero charge.

Paying $200 for a genuine canon battery seems a bit pointless on a $500 camera.

I'd estimate I get around 700 shots with my original Canon battery that I received with the camera when I purchased it used around 4 years back.

For new batteries, these have been mentioned many a time in this and the original thread: http://www.amazon.com …8-1&keywords=lenmar+np-e3 (external link)

Oh wow, perhaps the previous owner took very good care of my Mk II then. It was used in a professional portrait studio so perhaps they rarely even used it and used the DC coupler instead. Mine's also the original battery, or at least a genuine replacement. I think I will wait until my Mk III arrives to list the Mk II in case there is something wrong with the Mk III. Wouldn't want to lose a fantastic camera and be stuck with a faulty one.

...I'm using the cheapo Chinese lenmar brand and so far, so good. it's been 2.5 months since I charged it last and it's still shows half charged after putting almost 300 shots on it. the quality is almost 80% like the oem! hope this helps!

Wow,,, do those spots show up at f11? The Airplane shot at f/6.3 shows pretty clean.

But the f32 shot,,, a 1D II will probably show oxygen atoms at that aperture :)
