Wow,,, do those spots show up at f11?

f32,,, a 1D II will probably show oxygen atoms at that aperture :)

Yes visible at F11. We have a local camera shop and they did a good job with my T2i but the cost for 1d mk II is $70.00 bucks. Is that reasonable? my t2i cost 45 bucks.

I would have a good go with a rocket blower first,,,, see what you can clean yourself,, I see a couple of hairs at least that should blow right away ,, remember,, keep the tip of the blower at least 2 inches away from the sensor and don't use compressed or 'canned' air.

My local shop charges $60 so i guess $70 is reasonable.

Thanks man. Can't wait to see the horse pics,,, remember to use google earth to estimate where the Sun will be relative to where you will be stood. Sometimes it's hard to keep the sun at our backs,, but my pics are always 10x better when I do.

Thanks for all this tip I appreciate it. I will sure try to remember that.
If it's sunny ISO400 is good or should I go down to 100? I shoot AV 95% of a time. and f5.6 for birds up to f8 max.

Thanks

A fine lens for sure.

>If it's sunny ISO400 is good or should I go down to 100? I shoot AV 95% of a time.
>>and f5.6 for birds up to f8 max.

First thing,,, your lens is very sharp wide open,,, no need to stray from F/4. Second thing.... shoot RAW. I always shoot AV unless I'm in a covered stadium etc with 100% predictable/fixed lighting. You need to get yourself 1/1000th sec or faster with the lowest ISO possible.

So,, If the horses are backlit (you're facing into the sun) ,, then use AV,,, F/4,, AI Servo,,, Center Weighted metering +1/3 EV ,,,, ISO 200 should be plenty.

If the sun is at your back (preferable!),,, use AV,,,AI Servo,, F/4,,, Evaluative metering,,, ISO 125.

You can adjust the ISO upwards as conditions darken.

For something 'reasonably predictable' like horses,, I wouldn't bother with back-button AF or anything,, just go with the default method.

Of course,,, this is just what I'd do! Opinions are like nipples,, everyone has at least one or two,,,, I'm sure there are folk here who would do things differently! :)

I saw this in Amazon and actually thinking of buying 1, Thanks for posting now I am going to order it.

... my only complaint so far is the dial that locks the battery in place is a bit flimsy and the battery fits well but snug, so be a little cautious when turning it as the tiny piece may snap off.

enjoy!

Thanks for the setting I will write this down and bring it with me. I am glad you mention the default AF button as of now I am using back button in focusing I will have to change that to default when I go. The race track is opening in less than 3 weeks.

But the f32 shot,,, a 1D II will probably show oxygen atoms at that aperture :)

Hi Juckerz I have my 1d MK II done for sensor cleaning first I used rocket blower and was able to get rid of some but decided to drive to repair shop and have it done by them got it back after 45 minutes and is now really clean. I tried f11 and f22 and it is spotless and no more hairline. Paid 70 bucks plus tax. Really happy with it now I will be out taking pic tomorrow.

Thanks for all your advised. I appreciate it.

Sample images no pp done just randomly shots, Dang I love this camera......I am really excited.
