OK,, I have a dumb question.

From what I've read on the web, the in-body Noise-reduction feature on the mkII is supposed to be applied by the camera to long-exposure/bulb shots only.

How come, when I have the NR feature 'ON' ,,, my RAW burst rate drops from 20 to 18? If the camera is not applying NR at the fast shutter speeds I use (almost always 1/1000th or quicker) then why does the burst rate drop?

Hmmmmm?

C'mon! I can't be the only one that has noticed this?!

Same here. I have to admit, I have three of these bodies I have used for years, and I never noticed this !

Where do you see a number of burst, is it in top LCD display?
I also have my NR on. This is serious.

Look through the viewfinder,, it's on the far right underneath the meter ,, should be in roughly the same place on your 7D & T2i.

Exactly,,, now turn NR off and set ISO to 100 & shutter to 1/1000,,, the number should climb to 20.

I think the IIN has a 10% bigger buffer than the II to begin with (22 vs 20),,,, so it should definitely be higher than 18.

The card used has no effect on the buffer size/burst # shown through the viewfinder.

I didn't think it would but was just curious. 20 or 19 I really don't care because either one Whoops the 6 that my XSi gives me!

Ok. Thanks.

? In expansion ISO I am sure this was asked already you can choose 50 but after 1600 it jumped to 3200. Is that normal?
