I haven't posted pictures of my daughter in awhile it seems! She and I both stayed home to get over being sick yesterday and she started feeling like herself and wanted to play outside. So, I grabbed my camera since the opportunity is rare where she is happy to see the camera :) These are just a couple different ones I was playing around with...mostly just for fun!

1. My happy girl

2. Playing with a little different PP

3. The usual B&W vs. Color dilemma...loved her eyes in the shot though

Those are wonderful expressions that you've captured! I am not nearly as lucky with my daughters.

With regard to the technical side, I feel as though shots 2 and 3 were slightly overexposed and that you've clipped the red channel.

Such a cutie!

The photos look a little over sharpened or over compressed. Less is more with the sharpening tool.

Thank you! It was just a random walk outside and she seemed to be in a good mood so I got some good expressions :) I kind of like 2 how it is but I can see how 3 looks a little overexposed. I kind of liked how it made her eyes stand out, but may revisit it to bring down the white. The 2nd one was intentional on the golden hazy feel with not as much red...just trying things out. Thanks for your feedback though!

I know!! She is growing ridiculously fast!! :) Thank you...she is such a big girl now. I love it :) As for exposure, I agree that last one is a little on the bright side, but I kind of like the other two as they are. I need to work on the last one. Thanks though!!

Thanks :) I don't know if it was the saving for web that oversharpened it, but I don't mind the look of these. At least, on my screen they don't look toooo bad, but I can try next time to soften a touch. I didn't use the sharpening tool on these either ;)

Thank you so much!! :)

They were all taken with the 50 1.4...love that lens. I use Photoshop actions quite a bit in my workflow so it's hard for me to describe exactly how I did it. I know the curves were brought up to lighten (I guess a little too much) and contrast was boosted. I did add some selective coloring to add a little black in as well. I didn't have to do a whole lot to her eyes because she looked right up at the sky which made them sparkle enough for me, but I did sharpen them just slightly with an action. I used the patch tool to try and get rid of some flaky skin as well. I think that was about all on this photo since I liked it almost as it was SOOC although I knew it was a little on the bright side :)
