Might try it on a test chart, and see if it's consistent. My 50mm 1.8II front focused. I was able to adjust it, and it's really spot on now.

I was out shooting and took around 75 shots about 3 of them nailed the focus so later I set up a test chart took 10 photos every single one was super sharp and spot on everytime at 1.4 :confused:

Yes it will, some camera's especially find it hard to grab focus due to the low contrast in the focal area.
