The reason I know I like it is because I'm wondering what's downstream.

Yes. Hanging lake is just east of Glenwood springs Colorado, and sits on the side of a mountain. When I get home from work I will post some more shots from the day which will give you a better idea of this amazing place.

Moderator's Note: To the OP, your images is way bigger than the Image Posting Rule's allowance of 1024x1024 restriction. I linked the image, but you can repost it to fit the restriction.

Thanks for the comments. As far as the HDR goes...I think it came out pretty true to scene. Looks just like it did when it drew my eye. But maybe I will see if I can make a version from single exposures and compare them

But thats the thing. A camera does not see the ranges of light that your eye does :).

Are you saying that this shot could be a little more powerful if done with a single exposure and a filter? There was no way for me to have the detail in the foreground shadow (tree bark, and close water) without completely loosing the background. Always open for suggestions to change my shooting style. This one looks pretty cool B&W as well

The highlights in the background are awful hot for having done this as an HDR. It's a cool framing and I agree with the others, it makes you wonder what's downstream; but the harsh light, especially dead center is distracting.
