I've owned this lens twice. The first time I bought it in used condition and it was ok with ok sharpness. The past week I bought it again but in new condition from the store and this lens is razor sharp! I love it more now then before!

This lens doesn't have to be used as a macro. The image below was taken at quite a distance and then cropped.

I just got this lens to replace my newest Tamron 90 vc f017 version. Hmm....only 4 pages??? Why did I replace it? The new Tamron VC version has dusts issues!!!!! Got it for 3 weeks and been to the Tamron service center twice for dusts problems. Dusts manage to get inside through the front element...because of the design flaw of the lens.....unless my new unit is an exception...doubt it.

Hi, I am an extreme newbie and have this lens. It is extremely versatile and I love it but I'd like to improve my macro shots with it.

I have shots like this:

But I'd really love to get shots like some of the photos on this thread and it's predeccesor, which have blown me away.

I am able to reverse a 50mm prime on to it and get some abstract items like this, but to be honest it feels a bit artificial. I have never used tubes or extensions etc - so can anybody give me advice on how to use these and which ones to buy? I use a Canon EOS1200D. Any advice is very much appreciated, thanks.
