Super colour and sharpness...something that is missing from most peoples hockey shots. What ISO did you shoot?

Thanks for the compliments, I use a varying ISO around the countrys rinks, these at Nottingham were shot at iso800

As for the banding I dont like it much either but rather that than give my work away...after all I need to sell a few to pay for the new lens...hahaha:lol:

Awesome as always! That's so nice that you got a picture of Theo. How'd he do that game.
I'm using my 70-200L for hockey tomorrow, first time with a zoom. Is that what you used for the first 2?

Dave, I really like these photos. I have shot high school hockey and know that it is not easy to shots as good as these. Like the B&W also. Could you tell me what locations in the rink you shot from? Did you shoot through the glass on any of these? Did you use custom WB?

I used to have the 300 2.8 but needed the cash. I miss that lens, it was by far the best I've ever used.

I use a Canon 1 D mkII body with a 70-200 L lens and a 300mm f2.8 both with IS. I mainly shoot from between the benches or from the bench itself. I have shot through plexi glass but the images tend to be a little "soft" and on average I lose a stop of light which isnt perfect for a sport that demands speed.

Rightly or wrongly awb has always stood me in good stead and seldom do I need to tweak too much in post editing, Canon seem to have it spot on for where I mainly work, and lets face it ,,,it makes life a hell of a lot simpler!

Drisley good luck with your new lens, its awesome and has stood me in good faith over the years, you will have a lot of fun with it, Im looking forward to seeing the results!
