Misty fjords and Glistening Peaks

Greetings,

The wife and I were privileged to go on an Alaska cruise a few weeks ago - the weather forecast was pretty poor (low clouds, light rain, etc.)before we went, but..

Like the forecast, the initial contact with Alaska was pretty grey:

HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Byte size: ZERO | PHOTOBUCKET ERROR IMAGE


The Mendenhall glacier off in the distance:

But the next day in Glacier Bay was amazing..

The Johns Hopkins Glacier with Mt. Salisbury and Mt. Quincy Adams above:

Ice-filled bay with frosty peaks above:

Even the lower mountains were showing off:

No, you sure can't - I was really pleased to get the wonderful day in Glacier Bay - I was sure it was gonna be grey and damp. The Ranger lady sounded amazed that we got to see the top of Mt. Fairweather (15,000') - she said relatively few people get to see it.

It's the one in the center of the three peaks with the rounded top just under the cap cloud:
