If you don't need to get far off the horizontal, then straight to the monopod. If you need to do much tilting up and/or down, you might be better off with the RRS MH-01 Jon

Candor Goldmember More info | Sep 26, 2011 19:35 | #7 The RRS MH-01 is great nice piece of equipment with a monopod and I use it much more than a tripod setup. It's nice for shooting overhead and also getting low to the ground.
