Forest Portraits-

I went out to a nearby state forest with a friend of mine and took some portraits some time ago. We were in open shade, and I used a 580 tucked into a med softbox. She wanted some girly pictures, so these are a few from the set.

I think they are really nice. I especially like the first one, almost looks like a studio portrait.

I think the last one would have been nice with some nice background separation.

Thanks guys. I do wish I had a bit more separation from bg in full length pose, but I didn't really want to drop dof down losing detail on parts of her body--> I was scaredy cat!

Beautiful work! I look at the shots and love them, but you asked for some ideas.

#1 the crop is a bit short for comfort, just a bit more of her body in the shot would appeal to me.

#2 Is a fun girly photo! Something that I enjoy doing with this kind of shot is move in fairly close then have her use the camera lens as her "Mirror". With a little messing around you can get some great shots.

#3 She is a beautiful young lady, the only thing I might try wth this shot is to have her twist at the hips moving her knees to one side.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Cute portraits! I love the second one- it is full of personality.

I did do one with her looking at the camera, although she still had the compact in her hand. I do like seeing her eyes.

Nice work on these. I don't know if you gave the color versions a tint to them or not but on my monitor, there seems to be a yellow cast on them.

I hope you don't mind but I tried some white balance correction on your last shot above. Then for the fun of it, I did some selective blurring of the background and darkened it a bit.
