Ok, recently moved down to Jacksonville, FL. Sort of having to restart my photog business. Been kicking around ideas as to where I should concentrate on as I've done a lot of sports photography, some portraits, etc. Looking to find a niche where there's (maybe) more money and a little less competition. Since I just moved, I have the luxury of doing this.

Been doing some real estate photography (not a lot of money) around here. In speaking with more people, a few people keep suggesting doing photography for businesses for things like their website photos, headshots, etc. So I've been looking into this and thinking about it. I think it's a great idea.

Businesses can (sometimes) understand the value of good photographs and can be more willing to pay for them. Rather than constantly selling against Sears photos for portraits (and their pricing), I may be able to have a little more leeway in pricing (depending on various factors of course). I've also gotten plugged into some groups where there are LOTS of businesses who are looking for marketing help (photos are a big part of marketing most businesses) so I've got good access to businesses who are looking for this sort of thing.

Anyway, what I'm looking for are various ideas (from other photogs) on things I can discuss with these businesses. Obviously, things like headshots and photos for their websites, product photography, etc. come to mind. But are there other ideas I'm missing out on? Thought of shooting events for them at an event I attended last night as well. So I'm guessing there are other ideas I'm not thinking of.

Another issue is (as always) pricing. It's not like the photogs doing this are posting their prices on their websites so it's tough to figure out where I need to be. I don't plan on being the cheapest guy out there though.

Not sure if anyone here is doing this type of photography for businesses. If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks.
